The Big 5 Events 2024
The Masters – 11th-14th April
Just like every year, the season starts with 4 rounds of golf at Augusta National.
Every invited golfer fighting to get hold of the famous Green Jacket.
It is, for me, the highlight of the golfing year. I still talk about my first and only visit in 2005.
They say that seeing is believing and that rings so true at Augusta.
Early gossip is that Bernhard Langer will finally be playing his last Masters Tournament this year.
Ludvig Aberg will be playing for the first time. Many top amateurs are playing who can certainly keep up with the professional field.

Played this year at Valhalla GC, Louisville, Kentucky.
This course has seen Tiger, Rory and
Can Rory McIlroy re-spark the passion of winning at Valhalla back in 2014? No, of course, he can’t.
Then who will be headstrong enough to win this year?
The US Open – 13th-16th June
This year the tournament will be held at Pinehurst Resort, Course No. 2.
By far the best golf course at Pinehurst and a real test of golf for the players.
Some of these greens resemble upturned bowls and are sometimes unplayable.

The Open Championship-18th-21st July
Royal Troon in Ayrshire will hold the Open Championship this year.
They have done some investing into the course and it does look in top shape.
Who can tame the 8th hole, Par 3, named, originally Ailsa, the now-named Postage Stamp?
Gene Sarazen did with a hole-in-one with a 5 iron. Tiger didn’t with a triple bogey 6 on his card.

The AIG Women’s Open – 22nd-25th August
This year the tournament will be held on the Old Course at St Andrews for the 3rd time.
Last year’s successful event was held at Walton Heath. This year’s event promises to be bigger and better.
If you haven’t organised a trip yet, then now is the time.

The Solheim Cup – 14th-16th September
This year the tournament will be held at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Gainsville, Virginia.
After last year’s stunning finish to a gripping tournament, the European Team managed to retain the Solheim Cup.
The question is, can they do it again this year in September?
Who will make this year’s squads for Europe and USA?
