Kingussie Golf Club
26. August 2025

Kingussie Golf Club is a short golf blog post that looks at a real hidden gem in the Cairngorms National Park.
Located on the edge of town, in the heart of the beautiful Cairngorms National Park, is Kingussie Golf Club.
The club has a dramatic backdrop of pine trees, mountains and the River Spey.
It has an abundance of wildlife on the course, including deer, ospreys and rabbits, as well as birds and butterflies.
A Warm Welcome
Perhaps what sets Kingussie Golf Club apart most is its reputation for ‘hospitality’.
Visitors are treated not as strangers but as guests.
They are welcomed by both staff and members who take genuine pride in their club.
It is safe to say that everyone leaves the club after a wonderful experience.
The Golf Course
This is a true Highland golf course, combining natural contours with clever design.
Originally laid out in the late 19th century, the course has evolved into a well-designed and enjoyable layout.
The course is a great test of skill for the casual golfer and for the experienced player.
Measuring just under 6,000 yards, it rewards accuracy and course management over sheer power.
The front nine plays gently uphill into the hillside, weaving between heather and gorse.
There are blind shots and inviting ones, but all of the holes demand thoughtful placement.
The back nine then turns back towards the Spey valley, offering more stunning views.
Natural features, including burns, ridges, and mature trees, are used to full effect, giving the course its charm and variety.
The Clubhouse
At the heart of the club is a warm and welcoming clubhouse.
It has been designed to reflect the character of the Highlands.
Inside, visitors find a comfortable lounge with panoramic windows looking out across the finishing hole.
It has a traditional feel, but with modern amenities.
The bar & dining area offers typical Scottish dishes.
Changing facilities that cater to both members & casual golfers.
The clubhouse atmosphere is laid-back with a friendliness and the pride of a long-established members’ club.
All in all, I can recommend Kingussie Golf Club to all golfers visiting the Cairngorms National Park.
