Kingsbarns Golf Links is a short golf blog post that looks at one of the best golfing experiences in Scotland. Around Scotland, there are many great golf courses to play and experience, but for me, this is one of the best. The Old Course, Ailsa, Muirfield, Troon, Carnoustie, North Berwick & Dornoch were always on this list, but now there is Kingsbarns Golf Links. From the moment you turn off the main road, you are submerged in a new world, that is Kingsbarns. The History Golf has been played on this site since 1793. The Kingsbarns Golfing Society was established in 1815. In 1850, after many land disputes, the links were ploughed over by the local tenant farmer. Then in 1922, Willie Auchterlonie designed and built a 9-hole course, which closed again in 1948 In 1997, Kyle Phillips began building his vision, which took him 3 years to complete. The Kingsbarns Golf Links opened in 2000. The Clubhouse A warm welcome awaits you as you enter the Clubhouse. The staff cannot do enough for you. They are courteous, friendly, yet professional. You will find the Proshop on your left and the restaurant on the right, and there are locker facilities on the 1st floor. The Practice Facilities There is an excellent Driving Range equipped with Titleist Golf balls, which are included in the green fee. The range is on grass mats, and there is also a Pitching / Chipping area. A huge Putting Green is located by the Clubhouse that boasts some of the best views in Fife. The Course From the first tee until the last green, Kingsbarns Golf Links delivers time and time again. Challenging holes that are playable for all levels of golfers. The course conditions are second to none, and the views are to die for because of the coastal views. They have recently manicured the Gorse bushes to optimise the sea views, which really does add to the beauty of this links. I didn’t play particularly well, but even so, I can’t wait to return here. Hole after hole, shot after shot, you can not help but be impressed at the course. Tournaments at Kingsbarns Since 2001, Kingsbarns has been one of the 3 host courses that host the Dunhill Links Championship. Kingsbarns has also been an Open Qualifying Course in 2010 It has also hosted the 2017 Ricoh Women’s British Open. Take a look at their website by clicking this link. Kingsbarns Golf Links.
