How to Swing in Sync?
25. Juni 2024

How to Swing in Sync is a short golf blog post that looks at ways to help you feel the movement through the ball. Many of us grew up with the idea of using more hands than the body, as there is more feel in your hands. This worked some of the time but not all of the time. There are timing issues with too much or too little hand action. Besides timing issues, there is also the question of the release. What is the release, how does it look and when should it happen? Too many questions confuse the mind, especially when the release should be a natural action or movement. So what do I mean when I say that we should swing in sync through the ball? Many golfers are too dominant with their arms, hands and wrists meaning that the club-head overtakes the body too early and often creates a shot that ends up too far left of the target. Some golfers are too excessive in the legs or hips and create too much lag, meaning that the club gets left behind the body. This tends to leave the club face open at impact which results in hitting the ball too far right of the intended target. So, How are you supposed to feel the right movement to be able to correct the fault? The answer is, to pick up a basket or bucket at the range (Like in the photo below) and try to make a golf swing with it. First of all, your wrists will be much quieter and less dominant than before. This is key when trying to sync the swing. You may also feel as though you are turning more both pre and post-impact. Turning the shoulders more is another key movement when attempting to sync your swing. Allowing the body to turn more and at the same time reducing the wrist movement are quality changes. Doing both of these will be a great help in making sure that you Swing in Sync. Too much wrists would put you in very unnatural positions Notice how the body turn is reduced due to the excessive arm/wrist action Please give it a go and let me know how you get on.
