Golf Tournaments That You Should Visit

Golf Tournaments That You Should Visit is a short golf blog post that looks at the top events every golfer should visit, at least once.
Whether you are a seasoned golfer or a complete beginner, visiting a tournament is an enjoyable experience.
Witness the best of the best, first hand, battling it out on the golf course.
From amateur golfers to the world’s best professional golfers, tournaments are wonderful events to watch live and in person.
Not only do you get the atmosphere, but you get to see the golf course set up for yourself.
You can find a good vantage spot and stay there or follow and support your favourite players.
So what tournaments do you want to see and experience for yourself?
Golf Tournaments That You Should Visit
The Masters
It’s the tournament on top of everyone’s bucket list. This is the ultimate tournament experience for all golfers.
I was lucky enough to go in 2005 and I still talk about it every year.
From the course to the traditions, this place will mesmerise you.
Find out just how hilly this course is and how manicured it is and prepare to have saliva dribbling down your chin on every hole.
Remember your credit card before entering the shop, as this is the only place where you can buy merchandise for the tournament.
Packages for The Masters are available here.
The Open Championship
Witness the story unfolding in front of your very eyes as you watch the players battle it out for the Claret Jug.
Don’t forget to wrap up warm and you may also need your waterproofs and an umbrella.
It is on the Links where anything can happen and usually does. I love going to the Open Championship.
This year, the tournament returns to Royal Portrush, Northern Ireland. This will be the 3rd time that it is played in Portrush.
Packages are available here for the Open Championship.
The Solheim Cup
I witnessed the Solheim Cup in 2019 at Gleneagles and it was a real treat.
This is a great tournament to watch in person. You really get drawn in by the spectators and players.
It is a party atmosphere on every tee and green.
The next one will be played at Bernardus, The Netherlands in 2026.
Solheim Cup Packages are on sale now. Find out more about the packages by clicking on the link.
These tickets sell out quickly, so don’t delay.
The Ryder Cup
It was watching the Ryder Cup back in 1987 that made me start to play golf seriously.
The Ryder Cup is the most exciting golf tournament in the world and the atmosphere is electrifying.
It is, without a doubt, the best tournament to go and watch for yourself.
The next Ryder Cup will be played in September 2025 at Bethpage Black in the state of New York.
Check out the exclusive packages here.
Dunhill Links Tournament
This is probably the most relaxed tournament that you can visit.
It is played as a Pro-Am, so there are plenty of celebrities to see up close.
The tournament is played over 3 championship golf courses, each one better than the next.
Check out this tournament here.
Local Club Championships
Go along to your local golf club and ask when the club championships take part.
I would recommend that you support your local golf tournaments, as some of these players will be future stars in golf.
You might even want to ask if you can volunteer to rake bunkers, or by being a Caddie. Crowd control or referees are always needed.
There is nothing better than supporting your local club. Well what ar waiting for, contact them now.
Seniors Open
This is always a fun tournament to go and watch. You will know most of the names that are competing from their earlier days on the world stage.
Langer, Woosnam, Clarke for example. This tends to be a very laid-back event where you can get close to the players.
The tournament will be held at the Sunningdale Old Course in July 2025.
This is one of my favourites, check out the tournament here.
AIG Women’s Open
The female sporting world is growing and growing and there is no better example than in golf.
I have been following the AIG Women’s Open for a few years now and it really is an exciting tournament.
The spectator area with refreshments and shop etc is excellent and I have always enjoyed the atmosphere.
You will have to go some distance to find better golf than what you will see here.
This year it will be played at Royal Porthcawl in August.
Check it out for yourself on their website.
