Genesis Scottish Open 2024

Genesis Scottish Open 2024 is a short golf blog post that looks at one of the biggest golfing events in Scotland. This year the Genesis Scottish Open is being held at the Renaissance Club in East Lothian between the 11th and 14th of July 2024. The Renaissance Club It’s a course that somehow stays under the radar of many golfers who visit Scotland which is unbelievable. The course was designed by Tom Doak and was opened in 2008. It is 7,303 yards long with a Par of 71. It is open to members and their guests between the 1st of April and the 31st of October each year. The Scottish Open It all started in 1972 at Downfield GC in Dundee. Neil Coles won the tournament and picked up 2000 pounds after beating Brian Huggett in a playoff. The tournament has been played on several courses in it’s past, such as: Downfield – 1972 St Andrews – 1973 Haggs Castle – 1986 Gleneagles Kings Course – 1987-1994 Carnoustie Championship – 1995-1996 Loch Lomond – 1997-2010 Castle Stuart – 2011-2013 & 2016 Royal Aberdeen – 2014 Gullane – 2015 & 2018 Dundonald Links – 2017 Renaissance Club – 2019-2024 The Prize fund for the tournament has increased since being held at the Renaissance. This year the prize fund is a massive 9 million. The winner will receive 1,575,000 pounds My First Day Visit – Thursday I have seen many professional events over the years and this one was one of the best-organised tournaments by far. There were plenty of signs all around the course showing you the way. A detailed map on the back of the players’ tee sheet was also helpful. We visited the event shop to check out their merchandise which was of excellent quality. I was keen to see the players tee off from the 10th tee, as it was a two-tee start. After watching some great names tee off like Padraig Harrington, Rasmus Hojgaard, and Billy Horshel. We decided to follow Adam Scott and Rickie Fowler for a few holes. Once we reached the 14th Tee we decided to hang around and watch a few other groups play through. Among these groups were names like Viktor Hovland, Rory McIlroy, Tom Kim, Max Homa and Robert MacIntyre. The Food and Drink We decided to take a break and look for some food and drink. There were some fantastic options at this event. We mentioned a few times over the day how good the options were. I went for the Braveheart Pizza and a Latte and my wife took a Latte with a slice of Carrot Cake. All of it was delicious and reasonably priced. After our break, we decided to walk the first 2 holes and hang around the 2nd tee for a while and watch some more stars. We witnessed Ludvig Aberg, Colin Morikawa, Hideki Matsuyama, Matt Fitzpatrick, Jordan Spieth, Justin Rose, Justin Thomas, and Ryan Fox. Watching Sepp Straka was also a must because my wife is from Austria. All in all, we had a great day out and got plenty of steps in too. I can highly recommend that you visit the Genesis Scottish Open 2025. It’s going to be a good one. What are your thoughts on the Genesis Scottish Open 2024?
