Fresh Start to the Golfing Season

Fresh Start to the Golfing Season is a short golf blog post that looks at making the 2025 golfing season the best one yet. But how?, I hear you ask. Well it isn’t rocket science and most of what you are about to read, you already know. But I can promise you, if you follow these few steps, you will improve your game. Fresh Start to the Golfing Season Get your body Golf Ready This is simple to do and only takes a maximum of 6 weeks. Start walking the equivalent distance of 27 holes. Why 27 holes? Remember being fatigued by the 15th hole? that’s why. Download a Fitness App and start doing regular exercise. Don’t forget to start eating more healthily. Healthy does not always mean disgusting, bland, tasteless food. Educate yourself. Take nuts onto the round instead of chocolate. Keep yourself hydrated. Drink White Tea instead of Coffee or Black Tea. Drink more non-fizzy drinks than normal. Go to the Driving Range Continue to practice throughout the winter to ensure confidence at the start of the season. You will be able to detect your strengths and weaknesses to help develop a plan of action. Don’t go to the driving range with just your Driver & Woods. Don’t forget the shorter stuff. Erase from your mind, once and for all, that chipping and pitching on the driving range is a waste of time and money. New Year Resolutions for Golfers Book a PGA Golf Lesson Find out where your local PGA Golf Professional is and book a series of 10 lessons. There is very little point in booking just one 30 minutes and then expect miracles to happen. Let the PGA Golf Professional give you a personalized training plan, which will boost your game. Practice your Short Game (More than you already do) A good Short Game is a golfer’s best weapon in their armoury before going into battle. Chipping, Pitching, Greenside Bunker shots and Putting are the most important areas of your overall game. Create a training plan, with the help of your PGA Golf Professional, that will increase your confidence around the greens. Equipment MOT Make sure that your equipment is ready and in ship shape before the season starts. Go to your local PGA Golf Professional and ask them to check over your clubs. You may need new matching grips or your loft and lies may be out by a few degrees. It may be that you require new technology in your bag to help you out on the golf course. Don’t forget to check your gloves and balls too. Whatever you need, your local PGA Golf Professional will help you out. What are thoughts on Fresh Start to the Golfing Season?
